Re: School opening and closing times and collection of pupils.

 Dear Parents / Guardians,

 We, the Board of Management, wish to advise you of the hours at which the school can accept responsibility for your children.

 The school day begins at 9.20 am. As an act of goodwill, the Principal or another designated adult will supervise the school yard between 9.10 -9.20am daily. If a pupil arrives on the school premises between 9.10-9.20am they should proceed to the school yard at the back of the school. They will be collected by their teachers here at 9.20am and proceed to their classrooms to begin their school day. On occasion/ depending on the weather, the pupils may be taken inside to be supervised by the Principal/other appointed adult. Parents should not allow their children onto the school premises before 9.10am as they will not be supervised before this time and therefore will not be insured to be on the premises. We take absolutely no responsibility for children arriving on the school premises before 9.10am. We also urge children and parents to enter and leave the school premises with care.

 If a pupil arrives on time for school (9.20am) they should proceed directly to their classroom and do not have to go out to the yard. No pupil should arrive later than 9.20 a.m. however in the event that a pupil is late they should proceed directly to the school reception to sign into the late arrivals/early leavers book, and from here proceed to their classroom with a note of explanation from their parent/guardian.

Classes will end each day at 2 p.m. for Infants and at 3 p.m. for all other classes. Parents must collect their children at the school gate. If you wish to make alternative arrangements for collecting your child please inform the class teacher.

 The person collecting children must be at the school no later than 3 p.m. as the school cannot accept responsibility for looking after the children after this time.

 Children are not permitted on the school grounds outside of school hours.

 Children leaving school early must have a note from Parent / Guardian. The child must be signed out by an adult in the book at reception.  The child / children will only be permitted to leave when the parent / guardian / or person authorised, arrives to collect the child.
