Between Sept 2022 and June 2024 the pupils of Loughmore NS participated in a Digital Heritage Project as part of a Creative Cluster with other local schools. Our primary focus was creating a digital record of the stories, folklore and legends of Loughmore, as recorded in the 1937 Dúchas Collection. We aimed to explore these records and record them in a modern form for posterity. We also aimed to update this collection since 1937. Thus began a historical, digital, creative journey and discovery learning process that has yielded wonderful results. We aim to continue this project into the future and urge anyone with information to add to this page to email us info@loughmorens.ie It is a working document as the heritage and culture of Loughmore is as expansive as it is regaling.
